I eat suicide for breakfast
Posting these now, coz I had the go signal from Kreame already. Yayyy! This would be my messiest -and most delicious!- shoot to date. We literally had to spread food on my body and I had to smell like milk & bacon 'til the day after (not that I'm complaining) :P
Enough talk! Lez get it on~~~!

I don't need a soul.
Last Friday, 10th of September, the awesome
Kreame Isaac and
Keith Dador came over. We did a shoot for Kreame's portfolio, and I think the photos will be submitted to a local publishing firm as well. That's why I can't release the official photos just yet. Meanwhile, I shall just bombard your screens with lovely BTS.
Kreame, styling meee. She also did the lovely pink leopard-ish prints on my face!
Lovely outtake photos don't look like outtakes at all (thanks to Keith's photography skillz).
Me & my dog Britney. Yes, I look like a little Japanese boy :|It was a four-hour shoot, with five sets. Basically, everything was a blur; I had to wash my face every after one set = different make-up & styling for every layout. It was pretty tiring, and my house looked like a mess after the whole shoot, but it was all worth it. The photos are gorgeous, and I got to work with awesome people. ♥
Watch out for more photos soon!

In keeping secrets of silent earth.
Yesterday, a good friend of mine,
Lex Alinsod, came over to shoot. He mostly covers events like conferences and weddings, but has also been with me in a few portrait sets (Oh Ketsana shoot with Zari Bilon as model). We haven't done a formal shoot in ages so I really tried to make this one special.
I did my own make-up and styling. Just so you know, this is inspired by the Fall 2007 runway show of renowned fashion designer, John Galliano. I sort of like disturbing themes, really.
The shoot started at about 4pm. Everything was shot with natural lighting. Without further ado, here are the final photos from the set...
The third one is definitely my fave! Also, if you are familiar with Galliano's F/W'07 show, you would know why I have a little kid in my arms on the first photograph. ;) I really liked how Lex did played with framing and angles on this shoot. It was unconventional, but it works! It was really different from the shoots I've done before.
And oh, how could I not have a photograph with my lovely doll~
Her name is Larra. She's like our little sister, but is actually the four-year-old daughter of our househelper. She's turning five year old on the 29th! :D
And this is me, with my photographer for yesterday's shoot. This was how I looked like after literally rolling on the lawn + getting bitten by nasty insects. Haha!
Thank you for reading! ♥Labels: modeling
Today I finally watched the Japanese animated film, Shinkai Makoto's 5 Centimeters Per Second. It's been almost a year since Cid told me to download this, but I only got to watch it now coz I'm not a huge fan of seriously mushy love stories. /shot :)) Anyway, I shall proceed with my review.
The whole movie is composed of three stories (well, actually, one story line, broken down into three episodes in different POVs). The first few scenes are breathtaking. I'm a huge fan of beautiful art, and everything in this movie is eyecandy; the colors, the fine lines, the animation... The cinematography is plain awesome! The script was well written too. It's poetic, but not to the point of blatant cheesiness.
5cm Per Second is a slow-paced film, primarily because its aim is to just give the viewers a tasteful touch of what life and love is... or so I think. The first episode is tearjerking. It tells a story of two people, Takaki & Akari, who are separated by distance but bound together by love. I really like how sincere and pure the emotions of the characters are, and how the whole story was narrated. It is honest and sweet; not pretentious.
Episode two begins after Takaki moved to this city even farther away from Akari. It tells the story of a girl, Kanae, who falls in love with him. She eventually realizes that what Tohno-kun (Takaki) really desires if far beyond what she can give her. It's one heartbreaking story from Kanae's pov. One sweet tale of an unrequitted love.
The third episode is the last chapter of the story, and also the shortest. begins on the location of the first scene of the first episode, in the city where Takaki and Akari grew up. It's a painful realization of the lost essence of life and of the love that he was never sure of. Takaki and Akari continue to live their separate lives, on the hope of finally getting to watch the cherry blossoms together again, one day.
"If I could live life over again, I would be at your side every time.
Because I would want nothing more precious than you."
I am totally in love with open endings. I believe it gives the viewers the freedom to think of what will happen next. It lets the story progress on each and everyone's minds. I literally teared up when the ending theme played, partly because I always wanted Takaki and Akari to be together; And I always thought moving on was the hardest thing one could ever decide on. It's like letting go of what you've dreamed of, and building another dream from scratch.
Thank you for reading my short, incoherent film review. I recommend everyone to go and watch
5 Centimeters Per Second, and download a high-res copy for maximum viewing pleasure.

There is no such thing as 'weird'.
An outtake from today's shoot with Tim Serrano & Patrisha Sofia Delgado.
Awesome collaboration is awesome. We should definitely have more shoots like this in the future!
Black Maiden
A few days back, a photographer-friend of mine,
Cris Pangan (Lola Cris! *v*) came over to shoot me. I have yet to get used to bare-skin-shoots, and to be honest I wasn't all comfortable while we were shooting. I think I can say I survived the shoot, but hopefully I could do better next time. Sorry Lola Cris, for failing you! XD
Here are some photos which I post-processed:
I absolutely fell in love with Lola Cris' white mascara. My lashes looked ethereal that day! I think my make up didn't really show quite well in most of the pictures (forgive me!), so I kinda camwhored after the shoot:
Haha! I hope you liked the photos! Leave me some comments, if you wish. ♥

Dream as a memory
One sleepless night, a few days back, a spur of inspiration hit me. I said to myself, I need to shoot this tomorrow or this will forever be gone. So I messaged a friend whom I know can bring this concept to life. Luckily, she agreed to shoot the next day.
I was thinking of something serene; a photograph that would make you feel something that you could not explain; a traditional-modern take on a Japanese woman. And I knew I picked the right person to model my concept.
Meet
China Mungcal, the talented girl behind our gothic lolita photoshoots (
shinyredballoon on DeviantArt, and
vanillachailatte on Tumblr). She's a bag full of the most whimsical ideas, and I knew right then and there that she was perfect.
We shot this on a rainy, gloomy day. I was amused how we didn't really think while we were shooting; everything just fell right into place.
Much thanks to my dearest model, Chai. Darling, you've proven to everyone and to yourself how truly gifted you are. I'm looking forward to every future collaboration we will be having. Always remember how wonderful you are. Keep inspiring people through your craft :)

Same Old Blood Rush
Yay! My hair's back to its colored state again. I originally wanted to try platinum blonde, but my mom says it's too loud for me, and I think my hair is past the pixie length already. So, there! I have red hair... again :D
My Life Without Electricity
Yesterday was a bummer. A typhoon hit the Metro a few days back, and our electricity was cut at about midnight last Tuesday. We spent literally the whole day yesterday doing nothing. I decided to drive around the city in the afternoon, in the hope of chilling out at a nearby mall, but to no avail, the two malls I've gone to were both disgustingly hot and humid. I dunno if it's just the weather, or it's because people who were sweating all over were all bumming around the stores :( So I just grabbed coffee and headed straight back home. Also, ridiculous traffic is ridiculous. Well at least I got to spend quite some time in an airconditioned space, right? LOL, I mean, my car. OTL
Anyway, it was quite nice staying home with your whole family without electricity. Everyone was cranky and funny. Dad and mom and Lyle all charged their phones using the laptops, we had fun playing with a little green flashlight which was just actually a Star Trek freebie from a cereal.
LOL! Good thing we have electricity now. God! Brown-outs will drive us out of sanity, I swear! How was everyone these past days? I hope nobody got hurt 'coz of the typhoon, or anything :3
14.8mm Hyperblack Geo Lenses
Whenever I remove contacts from my eyes, a weird red outline surrounding my pupil appears; then my eyes gets swollen and bloodshot. At first I thought it was just a simple irritation, or my eyes were just tired. Then a few months ago, I cried with my 14.5mm on. The usual swelling I got from using contacts only last for 2-3 days, but that time, I had it for almost a week. I decided to have it checked, and I was diagnosed to have an really eye allergy which prevented me from wearing contact lenses. So whenever I wear contacts for cosplay or for shoots, I always bring along the eye drops prescribed my doctor. It was such a hassle.
A few days back, I ordered a pair of 14.8mm Hyperblack Geo Lenses from my trusted dealer and long-time online contact,
Vanessa. I was quite hesitant because it's larger than average (14mm's) and even larger than supersize lenses (14.5mm's), but I really needed them for a shoot so, wth, I bought it.
I was expecting my allergies to act up after I remove them. But, lah~ My eyes were perfectly fine! At first I couldn't believe it 'coz I wore them for almost 12 hours, so I had to wear them again today just to check.
Although I look incredibly
MOE and alienesque, I totally love them! It would take me a while to get used to the dry, uncomfy feeling coz it's almost covering my whole eye, but I'm totally amazed that my eyes don't hate the unusual hugeness. /heh
First
I love the rain. Cold. Serene. Rain. I have never done a shoot under the rain though. Probably because I've always decided that my first rain shoot should be divine. So right now, while watching raindrops dancing outside my window, I decided to make this - a blog and an online portfolio of some sort. It's not aesthetically appealing, I know. But this should work for now. I've uploaded a few photographs already, from the past shoots I've done. The people I have worked with are such talented individuals. I am blessed just to be able to know them.
I hope that through this little online journal, I'll be able to capture memories of unforgettable collaborations; beautiful mutuality between different people.
